Vintage Double Heart Birthstone Mother’s Pin in Original Caroline Emmons Box 1970s

This is a lovely vintage double heart Mother’s Pin in the original marbled red Caroline Emmons box for you to give as a precious gift or keep for yourself!  A marvelous gift for Mom!

The brooch features 2 textured goldtone metal hearts: one with an open center and the other, solid, which is set with 3 birth stones (simulated) in pink (October – imitation of rose zircon), imitation of golden topaz for November, and imitation blue zircon for December, and 5 tiny faux pearls.

This is a book piece and is shown on page 39 of “Emmons & Sarah Coventry Jewelry Fashion Show” by Deborah A. Robinson.

The 1974 brochure shows the placement of stones, depending on the number of stones ordered and states that if there are any open settings that remain after being set with the ordered stones, they will be filled with the faux pearls. That said, the December stone appears green to my eyes. On pg 39 of the aforementioned book is a reproduction of the 1974 brochure page showing the December stone and it does appear blueish green – leaning more to the green. (May would have been emerald green.) There is also a handwritten note taped to the back of the flocked cardboard insert that says “Mother’s Day Oct Nov Dec Antique Gold Plate”. I left it there for the new owner as a reference to what months the stones are for.

Measurements:  Slightly less than 1 1/4" high and 1 3/4" wide.

Condition:  The condition is excellent. The roll over safety clasp is in fine working order and the entire brooch doesn’t appear to have been worn much, if at all. Great gift for Mother’s Day, Christmas, Birthday ... or my favorite - Just Because!
