1950s Vintage Dress Black and White Gingham Pat Perkins Label - Large
This is a lightweight black and white gingham sleeveless summer vintage dress that dates to the late 1950s.
It features 2 patch pockets and a v-neck bodice that has one of the niftiest design elements I’ve seen in awhile. The V shaped bodice is created by pleating bands of the black and white fabric and edging with strips of nylon lace insertion creating a multi-dimensional effect. Closure is on the left side with a metal zipper.
The dress has been pinned to show proper fit on my dress form and mannequin.
Fabric: 100% Cotton “Crease Resistant”
Label: Pat Perkins
Condition: Excellent - There are belt loops, but no belt. It has been washed and is ready to wear!
APPROXIMATE Modern Size: Large
- Bust -- 40”
- Waist -- 30”
- Hips -- 40”
- Shoulder to Waist -- 16”
- Waist to Hem -- 20 ½”
When considering if this dress will fit you, do NOT use the size printed on the label – vintage sizes are MUCH smaller than modern sizes.
*** The last photo shows this dress on my mannequin wearing the dress – one view is of the dress at full length and one shows the dress with the hem pinned up about 5 ½”. I thought it was kind of cute that way and would be easy and inexpensive to do yourself.
