Sapphire Blue Cocktail Purse Vintage Handbag Large 3 Pockets 1950s JEMCO
This sapphire blue vintage cocktail purse that dates to the 1950s is truly a beauty! Larger than most evening bags and it features 3 pockets plus a tiny pocket sewn into the side of one pocket that is about the size of a business card. Nice to keep cards or a small mirror in!
The exterior of the purse and the purse handles are made of a sweet medium sapphire blue fabric. It is quite plush and soft – at first I thought it was velour, but it has no nap, so I believe it might be wool felt and lined with matching blue acetate. It is also padded with lightweight batting.
The JEMCO goldtone metal frame closes with decorative, circular kiss clasps on the center two brackets while the outer two brackets use the usual style. The metal circle clasps really give this purse that something extra that we all love so much about vintage!
Measures 13” across the widest part and about 8 ½” from the top of the frame (not including the clasps) to the bottom of the purse. There is a single fabric handle that measures 16” long and 1” wide.
Label: JEMCO stamped on the frame
Condition: In excellent, clean condition. There are some scratches on the goldtone frame – see photos – not terribly distracting.
