Volupté, Inc. was in operation from 1920 to the 1960s and is probably best known for its vanity items, such as compacts, cigarette cases, and combination purses. This wonderful ensemble consists of a matching vintage Volupté compact and cigarette case.

The exterior brass and enamel design is superb and depicts Persian horsemen who appear to be hunting deer. They sit atop black and golden brown horses. Some hunters brandish swords while others take aim with bows and arrows. One hunter is on foot. The walled city appears in the background.

The cigarette case makes a nice business card case, too, or a place to stash some cash!

Measurements:  The vintage compact measures 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” and the vintage cigarette case is 5 ¼” x 3 1/8”.

Signed / Label:  Pat. Pending Volupté label

Condition:  Both pieces are in very good +++ condition. They're actually quite exceptional, considering their age.  There is minimal wear to the enamel; the front of the cigarette case has the most wear and as you can see, it doesn’t detract from the overall appearance. The front and back of both items have the same scene. I’ve included detailed photos of the front and the back showing this. There is some cracking to the enamel on the inside of the cigarette case. Both cases have a couple of dark spots on the brass that might respond to polish. The compact contains powder and the puff. The interior is bright and shining. The mirror does have flaws, as seen in the photo of the Pat. Pending Volupté label. Also visible is the glue ring that holds it to the case. Mirrors are easily replaced, if so desired. In trying to point out any flaws, no matter how small, sometimes the condition ends up sounding much worse than it is.

This set is truly quite a nice example of a ladies vanity compact and cigarette case from Volupté.  Would make a nice gift for your favorite gamer or Game of Thrones addict!
