Antique 1920s Round Rim Windsor Celluloid Shuron Eye Glasses Frame
A very nice Shuron eye glass frame from the 1920s, these spectacles are Windsor style round rim eye glasses with no lenses. The frame is celluloid, possibly Zyl. The round rims are a dark brown color while the arms (temples) are covered with a lighter brown material.
The arms are intentionally set wide to fit and adult and the arms curve behind the ears to hold them in place.
The nose bridge is stamped on the interior with G.F. Shur-On (gold filled).
Measurements:
Horizontally, across the interior from hinge to hinge – 4 ½”
Round Eye Glass Frame – 1 ¾” in diameter
Nose bridge, where it attaches to the lens frame – ¾”
Condition: Very good +++ The round portions of the frame and the gold filled nose bridge, as well as the hinges and base wire are excellent. The celluloid covering on the wire forming the arms has a few cracks, but nothing missing.
