Blue Ruffled Flounced Full Circle Party Prom Dress 1950s Mitzy Morgan XS
For your dream prom date … wear this superb one-piece formal length vintage 50s full circle party dress and stand out from the crowd! The very pale blue acetate fabric is a wonderful backdrop for adding wonderful vintage accessories to enhance your look, too! Try a deep red rose at the waist or a demure spray of pastel flowers.
The bodice is fully boned for support and shape; it has a ruffled bustline and heavily ruched body. There are spaghetti straps but they could also be tucked in to become a strapless dress. The closure is at the left side with a light blue metal zipper and 6 metal hooks and thread eyes – all present – to hide the zipper.
The skirt portion of this vintage 50s prom dress is a true full circle and is covered with 9 tiers of bias cut ruffles that are attached to nylon netting. There is an attached nylon net flounced crinoline under this. (The photo showing the back – on the left side one ruffle is flipped up by accident.)
The dress is in very good condition++ and has been dry cleaned. There are two very small brown spots, one very, very light, that are hard to find in the ruffles, and a tiny catch in one of the ruffles (last photo has white arrow pointing to it). In the area of the catch, it looks like the hem may have been stepped on and the three bottom tiers of ruffles have torn away from the nylon net base. These have been neatly and securely tacked to the ruffle flounces of the attached crinoline and are not seen from the outside of the garment. There are two light stains on the inner bodice under the bustline that do not show to the outer fabric.
Some photos have been lightened to show detail.
Necklace shown in the photos is NOT included but may be available separately.
