Convertible Brooch Art Deco Dress Clip Duette Vintage Rhinestones 1930 1940
This Art Deco convertible brooch Duette* consists of 2 dress clips and a brooch frame. Made of white metal, the graceful design is studded with glistening crystal clear rhinestone chatons and the texturing of the metal adds even more sparkle!
This convertible dress clip / brooch is UNSIGNED except for Pat. 1945268 which was issued in 1934 for the frame only. It was called an “Ornament Retaining Device” and may have originally been meant for use on a purse to change the look of the clasp. In my opinion, the way this frame connects to the 2 dress clips is very easy, compared to many others I've seen.
Measurements: The entire brooch, together, measures just short of 2 ¾” wide and 1” high.
Signed: Unsigned
Condition: In excellent condition. All stones are present and clear.
*"Duette" is the terminology used by Coro; "Clipmates" is the terminology used by Trifari
